Training and vocational school:
The apprenticeship will last three years and lead you step by step into the world of public transport. You will work on timetables and adapt them if something changes due to construction sites or major events, for example. You plan the deployment of staff and vehicles. You’ll complete your training in SwissPost’s Mobility Services unit, supported by login, the public transport training association. In the first year of the apprenticeship, you’ll start at Swiss Post and learn how planning really works in the background. In the second year of your apprenticeship, you’ll switch to a login partner company, in rail traffic control, for example, and gain a new insight into traffic. In the third year of the apprenticeship, you’ll be back at Swiss Post. You will analyse processes, improve services and take on more responsibility. At the end, you will complete your apprenticeship with the Federal VET Diploma. Swiss Post is your main training company, and login organizes your training path. You can apply directly via login.
And after your apprenticeship?
After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you’ll have lots of further training opportunities open to you, with or without the vocational school-leaving certificate. These include:
Further training courses
For example, as a rail traffic controller, traffic planner or dispatcher.
Specializations
For example, as public transport specialist or certified public transport manager. Also specialist in shift planning, control center or event management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
For example, in business or tourism, if you’re looking for a real degree and want to pursue a career.
