You help people understand their money better.

With the commercial apprentices, Federal VET Diploma, at PostFinance, you’ll tackle all aspects of banking. You'll have contact with customers, create financial analyses and support the team in the back office. You’ll learn step by step how the whole financial world works and how you can make a difference with your know-how. During the externally organized Challenge Your Potential (CYP) course days, you’ll acquire important banking knowledge that will help you to advance in your training.

To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:

Before you get started, you'll need certain skills and experience to help you get the job done. This also means that you have successfully completed upper secondary school.

You want to be in contact with people.

You like to interact with others, work in a team and make the day a little easier for people. You can be relied on.

You’re interested in numbers and data.

You’re not just good at numbers, they also tell you a story.

You are reliable and take on responsibility.

People can rely on you and know that you take responsibility. To do so, you handle all information confidentially and enjoy learning new things.

You want to understand economics.

You’re really interested in the economy and the world of finance. You want to understand how it all works.

Training and vocational school:

The apprenticeship lasts three years. You’ll complete the specialist banking training with apprentices from other banks on the Challenge Your Potential (CYP) course. During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical experience at a PostFinance branch. There and in other PostFinance departments, you’ll get all the expertise you need. Other departments will offer you insights into the various units of PostFinance. The training locations are Basel, Bern, Biel, Thun, Lucerne, Bellinzona, St. Gallen, Fribourg, Lausanne, Winterthur, Oerlikon and Zurich.

And after your apprenticeship?

After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to further your education, with or without a vocational school-leaving certificate:

Diploma

You can obtain a diploma or higher vocational qualification, for example in marketing, accounting or finance.

Higher technical school

In all commercial directions, so that you can immerse yourself even more deeply in exciting tasks.

Bachelor or Master

For example, in business and management, if you want to study and pursue a career.
