You’ll be at the heart of the action in the warehouse, familiarizing yourself with the processes and getting to grips with al the associated tasks. To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:
Before you get started, you’ll need certain skills and experience to help you to get the job done. This includes successfully completing compulsory education.
You can concentrate and keep track of things.
You can keep track of everything, even when there’s a lot going on, and always find what’s needed. Concentration and organization are no problem for you.
You enjoy numbers and planning.
You can also do calculations, for example when planning transport or sorting goods.
You like to get actively involved and move things safely.
You are skilled with your hands, move things safely and enjoy implementing practical solutions.
You are reliable and honest.
People can rely on you, and you tackle all tasks conscientiously.
Irregular working hours are no problem for you.
You are flexible and have no problem working at times outside 9 to 5.
Training and vocational school:
Swiss Post offers apprenticeships at the Mägenwil and Villmergen logistics centers. Your apprenticeship will last three years and lead you step by step into the world of warehousing logistics. You’ll learn about everything that goes with the job: checking, picking and what to do if something breaks down. You’ll sometimes also find yourself on delivery rounds or in distribution centers to familiarize yourself with the entire logistics process. In addition to the practical side of things, you’ll go to school and take additional courses in which you learn everything you need to know for the job.
And after your apprenticeship?
After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to further your education, with or without a vocational school-leaving certificate:
Diploma
You can obtain a diploma or sit a higher professional examination, such as the logistics diploma or the transport and logistics operations manager diploma.
Higher technical school
For example, as a technician for business processes, so that you can delve even deeper into exciting tasks.
Bachelor or Master
In business and management, if you’re interested in a degree and want to pursue a career.

Swiss Post’s letter and parcel centers are a hive of activity. You’ll receive and sort consignments, as well as operating sorting systems. And with placements in delivery and warehousing, your day will be even more varied.

Here, you are in the thick of the action. As a logistics technician, you get parcels and letters from A to B, collect consignments and help people with their questions.
