You ensure that every parcel stays on track.

Here, you’re right in the thick of it! You sort letters and parcels or control a modern sorting system. You operate machines, load vehicles or trains and send consignments on their way. You’ll also have placements in delivery and warehousing. There’s never a dull moment.

To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:

Before you get started, you’ll need certain skills and experience to help you to get the job done. This includes successfully completing compulsory education.

You are interested in technology and enjoy working with machines.

You enjoy working with machines and quickly learn how everything works.

Your team can rely on you.

As a team player, you take on responsibility so that your team can always count on you.

You have the power to perform physical tasks.

You get stuck in and don’t shy away from strenuous activities. You sometimes also move heavy objects.

You are reliable and honest.

People can rely on you, and you tackle all tasks conscientiously.

Irregular working hours are no problem for you.

You are flexible and have no problem working at times outside 9 to 5.

You work at your best as part of the team.

You enjoy working with others, are good at communicating and say what you mean.

Training and vocational school:

Your apprenticeship will last three years and lead you step by step into the world of logistics. You’ll be working at the letter or parcel center and learning everything that’s done there: sorting, operating machines, loading vehicles or trains and ensuring that every consignment heads in the right direction. You’ll sometimes also find yourself in the warehouse or on delivery rounds to familiarize yourself with all aspects of logistics. You’ll become proficient with a forklift truck and really get things moving every day. You’ll attend vocational school and various other courses to ensure that you’re not only on top of things practically, but also on the theoretical side. This will enable you to build up all the know-how you’ll need in your job later on.

And after your apprenticeship?

After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to further your education, with or without a vocational school-leaving certificate:

Diploma

You can obtain a diploma or sit a higher professional examination, such as the logistics diploma or the supply chain manager diploma.

Higher technical school

For example, as a technician for business processes, so that you can delve even deeper into exciting tasks.

Bachelor or Master

In business and management, if you’re interested in a degree and want to pursue a career.

Swiss Post’s letter and parcel centers are a hive of activity. You’ll receive and sort consignments, as well as operating sorting systems. And with placements in delivery and warehousing, your day will be even more varied.
