As an ICT specialist, you keep Swiss Post’s digital world turning. You install hardware and software, check device settings and help all colleagues when something isn’t working correctly. You’ll get to know the company-specific systems, try out new tools and become proficient in support. Technology, advice and problem-solving in a job that never gets boring.

To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:

Before you get started, you’ll need certain skills and experience to help you to get the job done. This also means that you have completed middle or upper secondary school with good grades.

You like to be in contact with people.

You like to interact with others, work in a team and make the day a little easier for people.

You’re a hardware nerd.

You’re curious about computers, tablets, etc. and want to know how everything works and is used.

You have joined-up thinking.

You see how everything fits together and use this to solve problems.

You like to get things done.

You like to be active, try things out for yourself and don’t give up quickly.

Training and vocational school:

Your apprenticeship will last three years and catapult you into the heart of the ICT world. If you meet the requirements, you can even acquire your higher vocational school-leaving certificate (BMS). During your apprenticeship, you’ll be part of the team right from the start and learn everything you need to know in projects and small learning units. From the second year of the apprenticeship, you’ll get to know various units and will also be involved in ICT support. You’ll acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge at vocational school and on intercorporate courses. The training locations are Bern, Zofingen and Zurich.

And after your apprenticeship?

After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to further your education, with or without a vocational school-leaving certificate:

Diploma

You can obtain a diploma, e.g. ICT system and network technician, or train further to become an ICT manager.

Higher technical school

For example, higher technical school qualification as technician or business informatics specialist so that you can delve even deeper into exciting tasks.
