To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:
Before you get started, you’ll need certain skills and experience to help you to get the job done. This includes successfully completing compulsory education.
You can perform tasks independently.
You perform tasks independently and conscientiously. Your team can rely on you.
You have the power to perform physical tasks.
You like to be hands-on and practical and don’t shy away from strenuous activities. You move machines and sometimes also heavy objects.
Technology is in your blood.
You want to know what makes machines tick and how electronics work. With curiosity and brains, you find out how everything fits together.
You like to be in contact with people.
You enjoy interacting with customers, working alone and working in teams. You make people’s day a little easier.
You have green fingers.
You will learn about different plants and how to care for them properly. With your green fingers, they’ll thrive!
Training and vocational school:
The apprenticeship lasts three years and puts you at the heart of operation maintenance. You’ll learn everything you need to keep buildings, systems and machinery in good condition: from cleaning and garden work to material and technology checks. The job involves an exciting mix of working both indoors and outdoors. You will play an active role as part of the team from day one and have placements at Swiss Post and partner companies so that you can gain plenty of practical experience. At vocational school and on intercorporate courses, you’ll acquire all the know-how you need on topics such as safety, the environment, waste and recyclable materials – well explained and directly useful for your job. The training will take place in Crissier, and you will have the remaining placements in Eclépens and Daillens.
And after your apprenticeship?
After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to further your education, with or without a vocational school-leaving certificate:
Diploma
You can obtain a diploma or sit a higher professional examination, such as the building services diploma or the diploma in facility management.
Higher technical school
For example, higher technical school qualification as operations manager for facility management so that you can delve even deeper into exciting tasks.
Bachelor or Master
For example, in facility management if you’re interested in a degree and want to pursue a career.
