To ensure you get off to a good start with us, you should ideally have the following skills and experience:
Before you get started, you'll need certain skills and experience to help you get the job done. This includes successfully completing your school-leaving certificate (Matura).
You are reliable and take on responsibility.
People can rely on you, and you tackle all tasks conscientiously. Your team can always count on you.
You are good at mathematics and English.
You’ve achieved excellent grades in mathematics and English. This is important because the software language is English.
You have joined-up thinking.
You see how everything fits together and use this to solve problems.
You like to get things done.
You like to be active, try things out for yourself and don’t give up quickly.
You work at your best as part of a team.
You enjoy working with others, are good at communicating and say what you mean.
Training and vocational school:
The apprenticeship will lasts two years and lead you step by step into the world of IT. You’ll attend vocational school two days a week to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge. In the first year, you will start at the Swiss Post ICT Campus. There you’ll learn the basics, work in modules and small projects and try out many things directly. In the second year, it’s time to put the theory into practice: you’ll acquire more in-depth IT skills at Swiss Post or PostFinance and work at a location in Bern or Zofingen. This will prepare you for the job and enable you to gain experience.
And after your apprenticeship?
After your apprenticeship, there are many ways to continue your education:
Diploma
You can obtain a diploma, for example in application development, IT solutions, service management or project management.+
Higher technical school
For example, a higher technical school qualification as an IT technician so that you can delve even deeper into exciting tasks.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
In business informatics or IT at a university, university of applied sciences or federal institute of technology if you want to pursue a career.
